In short: PlaneChat does not collect, store or share any personal data. Your messages never go to a server.
Messages, photos, voice messages and files are sent only directly between phones over an encrypted connection set up with Apple's MultipeerConnectivity. None of it is sent to us or any third party.
Your chats, contacts, profile and messages waiting to be sent are stored only on your device. You can delete everything at any time in Settings > Delete All Data.
While you're visible, PlaneChat users nearby can see your name. People you connect with can also see your profile photo and status. You can turn visibility off in the Nearby tab.
Local network and Bluetooth are used to find nearby devices, the microphone to record voice messages, the camera to take photos and Face ID to unlock the app. They are not used for anything else.
The app contains no ads, analytics, tracking or third-party services. No account, phone number or email is needed.
Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
