How do I play?
Swipe the board in one of four directions. All tiles slide that way, and when two tiles with the same number collide they merge into their sum. After every move a new 2 or 4 appears in an empty spot. The goal is to reach the 2048 tile, and you can keep going after that.
What's the difference between the modes?
Classic has no limits. In Time Attack you have 3 minutes, starting with your first move. In Daily Challenge everyone plays the same board that day. Obstacles adds stones that never move. In 100 Moves you only get 100 moves.
How many hints and undos do I get?
On Easy, hints are unlimited and you can undo up to 50 moves in a row. On Medium you get 3 hints and 1 undo per game. Hard and Daily Challenge have no hints or undo.
When does the Daily Challenge reset?
Every day at midnight on your device's clock. Everyone gets the same starting board and the same new tiles that day. When you finish, tap Share to send your result.
Does my progress carry over to my other devices?
Yes. Your scores, badges, unfinished games and settings sync across the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch where you're signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account. Syncing can take a few minutes.
Why don't I show up in Game Center?
On your iPhone, sign in with your Apple Account in Settings > Game Center, then close and reopen 2048. Scores are sent when a game ends.
Can I play with a keyboard on Mac or iPad?
Yes. Use the arrow keys or W, A, S, D to swipe. ⌘N starts a new game, ⌘Z undoes and ⌘I shows a hint.
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, tap the + button in the top corner and choose 2048. The widget shows your best score and today's challenge.
